Not Super Impressed So Far!

The Bottom Line: Seems like this printer has potential. If i get all the problems resolved this may turn out to be a great printer!
This is a HP Color LaserJet printer good for medium sized businesses. It has a duty cycle of 65,000 pages per month. I have just finished installing two of these printer earlier this week. They seem to work ok, but they have had too many glitches for new printers.
We purchased the optional 500 page tray for both printers. We found out after installing them that they make some fairly disturbing paper friction noises. This noise happens on both printers and it does not effect the printing, so we are assuming that it is normal.
With printer one I ran into older software not being able to print well with the newer drivers. I tried both the PCL6 and the PCL5e, but I kept getting PCL errors from the printer. So those printer drivers may not work with older applications. The PS driver seems to work much better.
Unlike printer one which I connected via the network, printer two is connected via USB. This printer is also using the PS driver, but print jobs have been failing on the PC. Once I restart the printer or plug and unplug the cable then it starts printing again. Not sure of the cause of this yet.
UPDATE (8/28/07) - I am fairly confident that the problem with the failed print jobs via USB is a buggy Post Script driver. As long as you don't need to print via USB with the PS driver you should not get the errors I am getting.
