The best value of all my recent purchases
Date of Review: Nov 9, 2005
The Bottom Line: I can't imagine that there's a better tall, oscillating fan out there, no matter the price.
This fan is the exception to the adage "You get what you pay for." I bought this fan at BJ's Warehouse, and I was desperate at the time for a quick alternative to an air conditioner that was always too cold, too loud and too expensive. So I was going to buy a fan that day, no matter what. I chose the Honeywell not only for the brand, but because it had a "breeze" setting. Turns out the "breeze" setting is the thing I love the most about this fan. Having lived in Miami, I know what it feels like to lie on the beach and get an intermittent breeze off the ocean. That's what this wonderful fan setting is like; instead of a constant rush of air, the fan cycles on and off at frequent but irregular intervals, simulating that breeze coming off the ocean. The fan's amazingly quiet, the six settings are more than sufficient, and it has three timer settings (2, 4 and 6 hours) to shut off automatically. Plus, it has a remote control that nicely docks on the unit when not in use. And it works! This is my second summer using two of these wonderful Honeywell fans daily (one in the living room, one in the bedroom, affordable at that price), and they're holding up very nicely. What more could you ask for? How about a summer energy bill in the $25 range? Outstanding!
