A different kind of game
Date of Review: Aug 8, 2007
The Bottom Line: Great game! Very unique and developed story line.
This is a great game if you bored of the regular shoot em up games that fill the market. It really feels like you are reading a mystery book (you even hold the DS vertically!) but with the added benefit of seeing parts of what you are reading. Not only that, you get to decide where you go, what you do, who you talk to, and what questions you ask!
You can change the options for left handed and right handed users. On one side of the screen, you look at a top down map view of the hotel. You use your stylus to move around the hotel. As you move around to different locations, you can interact with your surroundings! On the other side of the screen, you see a 3d view of where you are!
I found the story is very interesting. It slowly builds as characters develop. You get a feel for each character and it just sucks you in even more. You slowly solve little mysteries that end up being connected in a larger mystery. As you interact with different characters, you can ask them different questions. Certain parts of the game have key questions where there is a right and wrong. If you answer incorrectly, game over. You can save as often as you like and even if you lose, you can start that part over so don't let that scare you. I did notice that your answers and choices can slightly effect the game. You sometimes get different outcomes depending on your answers, which makes it a little more interesting that you aren't stuck on rails.
