Nice addition to PS2, but better options out there.

The Bottom Line: There are better cheat devices like Gameshark. but it will keep the average mainstream gamer happy.
If you are looking for a cheat code program for PS2, the Action Replay Max is good for most people. With the other features like changing DVD regions.
The interface is very nice, but the load times are slow. the program comes with a huge number of codes, but like most other PS2 code programs, it doesn't let you make your own codes.
New codes can be put in to the program, but only after looking them up on the internet.
The main problem is that the supported games are often only the popular or mainstream games. If you often play rare or different games you will likely not find codes for your games.
Gameshark, and the PS2 Gameshark often support many more games than what is found at action replay max.
If you can find a Gameshark for PS2 (seems to be very hard to buy) it is a better choice. I recently lost my PS2 Gameshark, and replaced it with Action Replay Max. Although the look and feel of Action Replay Max is superior to Gameshark, it is Gameshark that will more often allow you to finish off that hard, rare game you find yourself playing from time to time.
