Tough little camera, a little clumsy to operate

Pros:  Tough camera, can take a beating. Good pics on clear days.

Cons:  Difficult to operate at first.

Overall Rating: 3/5 stars

This is definitely a waterproof drop-it-on-a-rock-proof camera. I took it on a boat trip through the Grand Canyon, where it was submerged many many times, banged into rocks and repeatedly thrown into the hatch of the boat. I just got the pictures back so let me comment on those first.
The best pics are the ones taken in bright light. Any hint of clouds and you get a grainy picture. Overall the picture quality is very good and I have snapshots for my desk.
As for the camera itself, I found it cumbersome to use.
First, the arrow on the wheel to advance the film is not easy to see. When I handed it to others to take pictures for me, they inevitably tried to turn it the wrong way. The button you push to take the picture is made of rubber, and feels spongy when you press it (so it is hard to tell if the picture really took). Also, the window that shows how many pictures remain is difficult to read.
By the second camera I got the feel for it, but alas, my vacation was over......
