The Bottom Line: For Kodak's older model it is a true performer. Look for specials on refurbished units and get a great deal!
I was very impressed by this camera! It's strong, durable, easy to use, and takes superb photos.
After buying it a few months ago I've taken over 1000 photos, and the majority of them turned out great. None were blurry, even during moving subjects. The Auto mode shot excellent pictures! The camera is powerful enough to take great shots and small enough to fit in pocket, or belt holster.
I got the rechargeable NiMH battery pack with the optional camera dock 6000 and it lasted a very long time (over 100 shots in one day and still battery life). People have said the door is flimsy but I didn't have any problem with it.
It has great exposure compensation, though it was hard to adjust it manually in the menus (the model 7440 has it right on-screen). Some photos with low light appeared dark, but the flash is about all you can get with a camera that size.
The video capability for this model was surprisingly good. Though you are not able to change the zoom during recording (as with most cameras), it took great clear video.
A few things lacking in this model (but found in Kodak DX series) are:
Favorites mode, stored information for each picture, additional scenes/modes, 640x480 video, on-screen exposure compensation, and manual shot adjustments. If those things aren't important to you, then I would definitely go with the CX6445.
All in all, an easy to use, high quality, true point and shoot camera for an affordable price!
