The Bottom Line: I would recommend this camera to anyone
The Kodak Z650 Digital Camera has a lot to offer for a very reasonable price. The camera is very simple to use, and for what I have used it for, it takes very nice pictures. There are different settings for different types of pictures, such as settings for distant scenery, upclose pictures of objects such as flowers, indoor pictures, or bright beach or snow scenes. There is also a sport option, for pictures of objects in motion. Of course there is the automatic setting that seems to work for just about everything.
The camera is equipped with an internal 32MB memory, which doesnt hold a lot of pictures, so it has a slot for an SD memory card. It has an automatic flash, which may or may not be useful, depending on your preference of picture quality. It has a 10X zoom, but it takes some time to get the focus right when taking a picture, which so far I have found to be the only downfall with the camera.
I have heard some people say that the picture taking process is slow, however, I have not had this problem. I have taken pictures of my 2 year old daughter playing in water, and have been able to freeze the water drops perfectly in the picture. I have also been able to stop a hummingbirds wings for a beautiful picture. The quality of the pictures is great too, 6.1 megapixels, and the EasyShare software is very easy to use to download pictures to a computer.
I use a rechargeable battery for my camera, and it has a long battery life, I can take several pictures before having to recharge. However, when I used normal batteries in the past, I was having to change them more often, so I would recommend batteries specialized for digital cameras.
The camera seems rather durible too, of course I have not been exceptionally hard on it, but it has taken a few falls, short distances only, such as being dropped. It has been knocked around the car, and has taken a trip to the beach. After this minor abuse, the camera still works like it was new.
I love taking pictures, and this camera has never disappointed me. From pictures of my daughter sleeping to my dog running, from flowers to hummingbirds, and everything in between. I would recommend this camera to anyone who loves taking pictures, and is also on a budget. As I said, the camera is affordable, simple to use and takes amazing pictures. Definately something worth smiling about.
