Sorry piece of crap

The Bottom Line: Worst piece of junk I have ever seen from such a reputable company
When I first purchased this machine, I thought it was the greatest thing since VCR'S. The machine worked flawlessly. I was able to record my TIVO contents to DVD to preserve them forever or for 3 months, which ever comes first.All the hype of transferring your valuable recordings to DVD is total crap. I liked the idea of being able to record my favorite tv shows to dvd and to have a seperate dvd for each series. The first problem I discovered was that after the dvd was a little more than half full and you wanted to add more content, the drive would not recognize the dvd and you could not add to it. To make things worse, it would try to prepare the disk which would destroy the index of what was there and you could not recover the content that you had previously recorded ant it would be lost forever.
The machine was advertised to record on +R -R +RW and -RW media. I preferred -R media and had several hundred blank media but the machine soon would not recognize the -R. When I talked to their tech support I was told that the machine did not like Imation, Maxell, Memorex or HP media. I was later told that I should convert to +R media as it worked much better. Sure nuff, the +R media did work better (for a few weeks) then it would not recognize anything, Oh BTW did I tell you that then the prepare of the blank failed, that the blank was ruined. And did I tell you that by this time the machine had ruined well over 100 dvd's and almost 50 more that had some content also ruined.
Well they replaced the machine but refused to do anything about the lost content and refused to replace the new blanks that were ruined. The replacement machine worked perfectly and was even able to read about half of the dvds I thought were ruined but within a few weeks it was the same song and the same dance.
Well they replaced it again all the while denying that there was a problem with the machine, Third machine and within 2 months same song, same dance. Fast forward.... I am now on my 5th machine and it is same song and dance and yet they still deny there is a problem with this machine,
