Get an iPod
Date of Review: Jun 19, 2008
The Bottom Line: Buy this game but get an iPod. Its a blast but you need some good songs to listen to.
This game is as not as varied as it tries to be. You get all the things you want like playing modes styles of tracks and rider and even some variety in vehicles. The only thing I hate about this game is the few song tracks. The twenty or so songs get so annoying to listen to over and over and over and over. And over. You get those few songs so often they get implanted into your head. The lyrics keep running through your mind while you try to do something important. My solution-get an iPod. I got those songs stuck OUT of my head by listening to my iPod every time I play the game. Besides the lack of tracks, this is definately a four-star game.
Great game with a variety of game modes. You can start a career and try to become the best of your time, race through some of the many environments in indoor nationals tracks or outdoor supercross tracks, or explore the world in freestyle mode. In career mode, you can complete all the game modes while trying to get the highest overall ranking as possible. This mode is divided into two sections- racing and freestyle. In racing mode you can do both national and supercross tracks and I already explained freestyle. In supercross and national racing modes, you can go through dozens on tracks and not have to worry about any ranking to follow you through your career. In freestyle mode, you get to do four events which include runs, hits, machine races and stunt activities. Runs and hits include jumps that tell you where to take off and where to land. In run events, you have to complete a certain number of these sequences called hits. Hits are where you are going against three other motorcross riders programmed into the game and you have to complete ten hits before they do. In machine races, you get to try to beat a monster truck, dune buggy, trophy truck, biplane, or a helicopter through a series of gates. If you beat that machine, you get to drive or fly it in that freestyle mode.
Great game, perfect except for the lack of soundtracks.
