Epinions Saw Has All The Angles

by  rfish,  Feb 23, 2000
Pros: Safe, Saves Time, Clean sharp cuts
Cons: You don't want to move this around a lot
Review: When doing a lot of non-right angle cuts, it makes sense to have one of these Miter saws. It saves an considerable amount of time and frustration while doing your job. Due to the price it may be better to try and rent one for a one-shot job such as...

Epinions Quality, quality, etc

by  alladf,  Oct 3, 2000
Pros: Quality, precision
Cons: Not a 12 inch but who cares
Review: My shop was full, of some great saws, some average saws and some...well you know. I like my craftsman radial arm saw, but it is stationary and not really handy when I need one out of doors. The makita sliding compound meets the need. If you are doing...

Epinions A second opinion

by  missgussie,  Mar 5, 2001
Pros: No muss, no fuss, little clean up
Cons: Do you have a muffler?
The Bottom Line: This quality and durability is worth paying for.
Review: Though my husband is the "tool man", while building our shop and our current work-in-progress (our house and most everything in it) I have had to use ALL the tools in the shop. Needless to say, we have a lot of Makita products - saws, drills, drivers......

Epinions Top quality saw

by  big_fred,  Aug 10, 2000
Pros: Quality and refinement
Cons: none
Review: I bought this saw in 2000, for use with my hobby - home maintenance and furniture building. It replaced a B&D miter saw - wow, what a difference! The saw has a very light aluminum frame, making it easy to transport. It is one of the lightest...

Epinions Not just a boy's toy

by  kyhiera,  Oct 24, 2000
Pros: meets all my angled cutting needs
Cons: 10" blade may be too small for some
Review: Unless I’m mistaken—I am the first female to review this tool!!! Let’s hear it for the tomboy’s! It is now time to expound the virtues of being raised in the lumber yards of my Daddy’s childhood buddies (thank you Bill and Kent and Walt—if you...

Epinions Old saw gets the chop

by  swanjoinery,  Jul 31, 2001
Pros: Compact and reliable, good for all but the heaviest cornice work
Cons: The button WILL fall off- when you lose it use a rawl plug!
The Bottom Line: Great wee chop saw, especially for cornice & pelmits- if this size of cut depth is ok with you, then this is the one to go for
Review: After shopping around for a low cost chop saw this is the fella we went for. Very competitively priced, it is nonetheless a solid saw for the construction trade. Easy to set up and atow away, we have been using two of them heavily on a daily basis...
