On your mark...

So ever since the first Nintendo MarioKart has been one of the staple games in every Nintendo fans collection. So the new MarioKart for Wii was certainly one I knew that I needed to have.
First off let me just say I am not the type of person that loves racing games. Mostly because I tend to be all over the place. I find that the remotes are difficult to maneuver with and I get frustrated easily. So with the Wii steering wheel I have a new found respect for the racing game genre.
The wheel is easy to use and easy to navigate. To go you press 2 to shoot objects that you earn at other racers press the plus sign up to shoot forward down to shoot backwards. Remember with the Wii remote installed into the wheel this is sideways.
What is great about the game is the number of different ways that you can play. You can play a 1 player race, multi-player race(a regular Wii remote will work even without a wheel, or try playing worldwide. When you play worldwide the Wii searches around the globe for other Mariokart players for a 12 player race. I played against people from the US, Canada, and even Italy.
Have friends that have the Wii game you can set up races with them also.
Overall I would say for the price of the game it is worth it. Like I said I am not a big racing game fan but I found this one easy to manage and play. The race courses are fun, lots of different obstacles and themes. You have a variety of characters to choose from and you can race cars or bikes. I would definitely recommend this game for kids age 9-up and of course to adults of all ages.
MarioKart has truly lived through the years and this one has exceeded my expectations of the game.
