I wasn't really impressed with this film, I found it hard to get into. I can't help wondering if the producers intended for V For Vendetta to be taken seriously? It is worth a watch if you don't expect to be watching a brilliant film, because this is merely average. V For Vendetta tells the story of V, a masked man who wants the British public to stand up against the oppression forced on them, for them to stop living under the government's strict regime. I think that Portman could have brought more to her role as Evey, a young woman rescued by V. If you like films about people rebelling against totalitarian governments, I would say Equilibrium is a much more enjoyable film.
