Pros: Professional features and images, robust, pro build quality.
Cons: Initial cost to purchase.
The Bottom Line: If you cannot afford or don't need the Nikon D2Xs, the D200 is an OUTSTANDING alternative!
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: The Nikon D200 digital SLR is Nikon's first 10.2 MP camera and while it offers a little less resolution than Nikon's current flagship, the D2Xs, it provides users with professional level features and images at a less than full scale professional...

Pros: Excellent picture quality; fast; relatively easy to use.
Cons: Price.
The Bottom Line: This is a great camera for people who seriously love photography.

Review: I considered myself a semi-professional photographer at one time, but when I decided that I really "needed" a camera after fifteen plus years out of the field, I found that I did not know anything about digital slrs. I ran out and bought what seemed...

Pros: Meters with 1970s lenses
Cons: Digital noise is ugly past ISO400
The Bottom Line: I save thousands of dollars by being able to meter an older manual focus 600mm manual focus lens from the 1970s with the D200.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I do both wedding and wildlife photography and often shoot 1,000 pictures in a session. I need a camera that can stand up to the elements and shoot in any situation. The D200 never misses a beat.
What I like: It's sturdy enough to hold up... |

Pros: Great build quality, fantastic resolution and colour balance
Cons: High resolution requires careful shooting technique and exposes sloppy shooting. Battery life a little short.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this camera. It has the perfect balance of quality and cost. Suitable for the advanced amateur or professional, the D200 gives you the best of both worlds.

Review: This is my first Digital SLR. I've been a Nikon user for the last 15 years, starting off with a Nikon FM and slowly upgrading through to a F90x and now the D200. Given my investment in Nikon glass and my complete satisfaction with Nikon's quality, I...

Pros: Simply the best camera for the money.
Cons: Not a single "con," and I've scrutinized. Nikon got it right!
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: After several months on the internet doing comparisons between all brands in this Digital SLR genre, I chose the D200. It will serve me well for years to come. I added the Nikon 18-200 zoom lens with VR, a great combination. With this combination of...

Pros: Excellent image quality, build and performance. Bright viewfinder.
Cons: Not cheap, high ISO noise.
The Bottom Line: he D200 is a superb camera and in the right hands can produce superb images. But be aware that it is a merciless judge of lenses and photographic technique.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Introduction
Like many others I rushed to place an order as soon as the D200 was announced. Several months later, and I became the lucky owner of a camera from the second batch to reach the UK. I paid #1200, a #100 reduction on the RRP... |

Pros: Best digital SLR ergonomics available, rugged, superb image quality, great value.
Cons: 1.5X crop factor, limited dynamic range, no sensor debris filter, Nikon Capture not included.
The Bottom Line: Easily recommended to professional photographers and advanced amateurs. Professional build quality, excellent image quality, and the most intuitive controls available.
This reviewer recommends this product.

Pros: Good images, tough construction, well design & supported
Cons: Confused? Hire me to teach you how to use it!
The Bottom Line: If you want something tougher than the Nikon D80 or similar, look no further
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This is a very well designed, very well made rugged camera. For the first time, as a photographer I have purchased a camera that if I lost it, or otherwise needed to replace it, I would purchase another.
Why? 1. It is the... |

Pros: Great handling, build and picture quality
Cons: About 500 dollars more than it's really worth.
The Bottom Line: You just may want to wait for a D80 which shouldn't be far off!
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review:
Very few people are going to give an accurate review of the new Nikon D200, but I'm going to try. I'm NOT going to review the D200 on its own. That's not realistic or representative of how shoppers will seek out this camera. At such a high... |

Pros: Excellent handling, ergonomics, build, image quality, and value.
Cons: 1:1 CCD. focus mode easy to accidentally kick into manual.

Review: Hands down the best digital SLR for the money. Even taking the bang-for-the-buck factor our of the equation, many pro photographers will opt for the D200 over other models because of its excellent blend of: unbeatable ergonomics, solid build,...
