Great Portable Video Game System

by   kjscrafts ,  Mar 14, 2007
Pros: Best system for playing Original and Color Game Boy games
Cons: I cannot think of any
The Bottom Line: Best for playing Original and Color Game Boy games with its longer battery life and the right size screen for what these games were made to play on.
Review: The switch from the Original Game Boy to the Game Boy Color was the biggest jump between Game Boy designs until Nintendo went from the Game Boy SP to the Nintendo DS. The new features the Color offered were thinner design, better battery life on fewer ...

Do it in a public place!

by   StarSoldier1 , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  Aug 23, 2006
Pros: It still has a great list of addictive games.
Cons: The technology is pretty old so expect lots of slowdown and bland visuals.
The Bottom Line: They are usually pretty dirt cheap now and surprisingly they are still fun to have around too. If you don't have GBA anyway.
Review: GAMEBOY COLOR (November 23, 1998-2002) Nintendo finally answers all the critics, angry e-mails, and pretty much everyone in the world about the overall suckyness of the original old black and white Gameboy's. In 1998 they finally released the ...

A great system, even by today's standards

by   digitalquirk ,  Mar 12, 2006
Pros: Crisp screen, good sound, large library of games, durable, good battery life
Cons: No backlight, old technology compared to modern systems
The Bottom Line: It's a cheap, durable handheld console video game that fits in your pocket. Easy on the batteries, large library of games, I recommend one for everyone!
Review: Introduction Nintendo has the formula for handheld video games pretty much figured out. They realized, from their overwhelming success in the 80's, that the majority of their market don't care about the number of bits, processor speed, memory, ...

Nintendo GameBoy Color: The Best Hand Held Gaming Unit I've Ever Owned

by   Freak369 ,  Jan 14, 2006
Pros: Easy to use controls, color screen, can play color or b/w games, great battery life.
Cons: Considered a dinosaur in the world of hand held video games.
The Bottom Line: GBA, N-Gage, PSP, Nomad ... none of them have entertained me as much as my trusty GameBoy Color.
Review: Wow, I might get some serious hate mail for the title of this review but to me, the GameBoy Color is the best hand held video game unit. Look at the variety of the titles that you can get for it [granted most of them are older but still ...], the ...

Perfect for young gamers

by   mihoshi ,  Nov 23, 2004
Pros: Great little system
Cons: Not much use for the older/extreme gamers
Review: If you have a younger child that wants to play (or you want something for them to do in the car) I would buy this for them over anything new. It doesn't cost much, there are hundreds if not thousands of games to play, and it's very simple game play. ...

Not Really Worth It

by   RSRomeo123 ,  Sep 13, 2004
Pros: Color, highly efficient, multiple housing colors.
Cons: Obsolete less than three years after release, overall bad games.
The Bottom Line: Get a Game Boy Advance instead.
Review: Everyone and their sister had a Game Boy within six years of the release of that beautiful system. I got mine in 1992 at the tender age of seven in preparation for a cross-country trip. That system served me well for several years, during the ages when ...

Game Boy Colour

by   kdm2004 ,  Aug 11, 2004
Pros: Color screen, a vast array of games available, cheaper than a big system [obvious]
Cons: No backlight; easy to mess up screen, poor quality games -- [see review]
Review: I posseses a Game Boy Color and purchased one just when they were new, so mine is now about 5 years old or so. The Game Boy Color has many flaws and too few pros. The Game Boy Color is a system which plays arcade games which are purchased seperately as ...

Gamboy Color Opinion

by   jenjen1688 ,  Jun 16, 2004
Pros: Everything
Cons: The batteries. Get rechargeable ones or else you have to keep buying them.
Review: I love my Gameboy Color. The only thing I do is play Zelda: Link's Awakening on it. I can take it anywhere, that's the cool part. I sometimes take it to school and play during class time. Since its small, no one knows, The Gameboy Color ...

Pros: Compact,Lite,Tons of games,simple buttons
Cons: simi-bad graphics
Review: I really love the Game Boy Color, it is so awesome being able to easily take this wonderful little game system wherever you go. Stick a few games in your pocket and you're good to go. Hours of amusement! What I really didn't like was the smooshed up ...

For the Coach on the go

by   Klaxon_Oil ,  Dec 11, 2003
Pros: Price, games, controls, and developers
Cons: Not enough buttons for fighting games
The Bottom Line: This is one of the better hand held systems ever created and it's a good investment.
Review: After taking up Coaching and discovering that most of my time as a Coach would be taken video taping matches. It occured to me that for long bus rides and the break after matches or going through the team break there was something which was needed to ...
