Pros: New larger color screen, better sound
Cons: limited battery life
The Bottom Line: Great little gaming system, perfect for long trips as long as you bring plenty of batteries.
Review: Ever since my kids were given their first hand held gaming system for Christmas, they have been addicted to it. When their grandparents found out that they wanted one for Christmas they just had to send them one each. The hand held game system I am...

Epinions Gameboy Advance: The Latest Advancement In Portable Gaming (The Nintendo Write-Off)

by  jeremy1456, top reviewer in Games ,  Aug 8, 2002
Pros: Great Library of Games, Top Notch Titles Coming In The Future
Cons: Screen Scratches too Easily and Is Hard To Look At, Not Enough Buttons
The Bottom Line: Introducing To You... The Ultimate Handheld Console.
Review: If you know Nintendo then you'll know that they have dominated the handheld market for well over 11 years; the Gameboy handheld has faced off against many superior handhelds like the Game Gear and Atari Lynx, but for some reason or another the horrible...

Epinions The Gameboy Advance System: A Playground for Old School Gamers

by  kjell1979, top reviewer in Games ,  Oct 14, 2003
Pros: Small, light, powerful, cheap, backwards compatibility, good quality game library
Cons: flimsy parts, dark screen, not pocket size (for most people), needs more buttons
The Bottom Line: The Gameboy advance great system that will stand the test of time. It's a great investment for any gamer.
Review: Behind The Times I am not your average cutting edge gamer. I usually don't run out to my local electronics store and buy the latest and greatest things. Like many people like me, I have a limited budget to work with and quality matters. I've bee ...

Epinions Is That A GBA In Your Pocket or Are You Just Happy To See Me?

by  Freak369,  Jun 28, 2006
Pros: Nice design, easy operation, volume control, full color screen capabilities.
Cons: Can consume batteries in record numbers, light issues, surface dirt.
The Bottom Line: The GBA might not be on the cutting edge of technology but it's a well made unit that's sturdy, plays GBA and GameBoy games and...awe just read the review!
Review: After being a huge fan of the GameBoy Color when Nintendo announced that they were going to release a new console I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. When Toys 'R Us got them in stock I wasn't one of the first people in line to get one so I ...

The Bottom Line: The best handheld...ever!
Review: Well, I finally got a job this summer. And having money means I can actually buy things I want, like this shiny new GameBoy Advance (herein: GBA). So I've already written a preview for the GBA, a playtest, and now a final review after 2 days of...

Epinions It looks like my little Gameboy is all grown up...

by  rader6795,  Feb 9, 2001
Pros: Stronger than the SNES so it could handle its library!!! I'm marking out...
Cons: Nintendo's CEO won't let Square port to GBA if they don't program for GameCube.
The Bottom Line: It takes something amazing to really peak my interest before it comes out. Just the launch games and backward compatibility warrant the purchase.
Review: Let me say this before anything else. I am not one to be taken in by hype. More often than not, if I make the decision to buy a game or system on the day it comes out, it has got to be something totally special. The Legend of Zelda:The Ocarina of...

Epinions Game Boy Advance: The torch shall be passed...

by  offspringer,  Mar 14, 2001
Pros: Strong software lineup; link capability to Gamecube; backwards compatibility with many older Game Boy titles
Cons: High price tag; no backlight for dark areas; sporadic incompatibility issues with some certain games
The Bottom Line: Despite its questionably high price tag, the Game Boy Advance appears set to take over the reins of the handheld market with some great games at launch and beyond.
Review: Nintendo is set to launch its latest handheld gaming unit, the Game Boy Advance (or GBA), on June 11th, 2001, for the manufacturer's suggested retail price of $99.95. The GBA has some serious potential, as it not only has Nintendo's backing, but also has...

Pros: Great gameplay for relatively inexpensive games, games for all ages and genre's, backwards compatability
Cons: Large and childish looking, no lighted screen, screen scratches very easy
The Bottom Line: Use caution when buying this product for children, but by all means purchase a GBA since it is the best handheld on the market!

Pros: battery life, larger screen, small, smaller game cartridges, improved digital sound
Cons: at the moment not enough GREAT games, no backlit screen
The Bottom Line: A huge improvement to gameboy color, get it and you wont be dissapointed IF you buy the right games.
Review: Lets time travel to around 1988, when everyone was walking around with their big bulky gameboys that had monotone sound and no color and weighed in at about 5 pounds. It scares me to just think about it. Then the gameboys were transformed into a "pocket...
