I've had this camera for almost a year. I have brought it all over the world and put it through all kinds of torture. Whether its showing off its water proofing by submerging it in a pint of beer or its toughness by dropping it repeatedly this thing keeps on ticking and taking great pictures. It was the cheaper of the 2 waterproof Olympus models and more than does the trick. One difference is that the other can withstand deeper depths and higher falls. The deeper depths might be worth it. I'm scared to take mine below 6 feet which really isn't very deep, even for snorkeling. All the underwater shots I've taken have come out clear. Not National Geographic vibrant but more than sufficient for sharing with friends and 3x5s around the house. This camera is incredibly easy to use. All the features are availible at the click of a button or turn of the track wheel. The automatic self timer actually gives you enough time to make it back into the picture! This was huge for me since I usually end up with only half of me in picutres. The battery life is very good and even when its flashing in the "ready to die" mode you can still get a couple flash pictures in. I do wish that the USB connector also acted as a charger, but unfortunatley that is one feature this little guy isn't packing.
If you are looking for a versatile point and shoot that takes great pictures, is easy to use and has some cool preset picture options than this is the camera for you. It's not an SLR so if you are an aspiring Ansel Adams your better off with an EOS Rebel of some sort. Only negative I've found is that it doesn't have a touch screen, other than that I can't see why you would by another camera.
