Some impressive things, and some disappointments

The Bottom Line: Be aware of the actual capability of this camera, not its advertised capability. It has wonderful price-performance; it's just that neither is that high.
Review: The specifications of the Olympus SP-550UZ wowed me from day one. I mean, 18x optical zoom? Compact? ISO 5000? And a relatively low price to boot? What's not to like?

The Bottom Line: Excellent zoom, great price, great end product!
Review: I bought this camera as soon as it came out, and have been more than happy with it. The optical zoom is one of the best on the market, at 18x. It is great in fast action at sporting events, low light at concerts and of course excellent in daylight...

Great camera for the enthusiasts!

The Bottom Line: Great camera for Enthusiasts, would definitely not recommend for a beginner. Lots to learn to get maximum usage out of this camera, but well worth the effort. Good investment.
Review: Coming up to the technology age from a manual SLR camera, I have had some very pleasant surprises and also a few disappointments with this camera. One of the few cameras I have owned that I have actually had to read the instruction manual!

Worst Customer Support ever

The Bottom Line: I would stay away from Olympus based on customer service alone.
Review: The Camera has broken 2 times already and customer support is horrible. I have already paid for this camera in full 2 times.I sent it in to Olympus and they offered to fix it at a reduced rate of 110 dollars plus shipping. The camera never was fixed...

The Bottom Line: I would recommend this product to those who love taking pictures . High Optical zoom and great choice of scenes modes.Large screen and great software.

The Bottom Line: I'd wait for some of the upcoming ultrazooms, especially from Sony, unless you are taking pictures only on bright sunny days.
