Olympus VN-2100PC (64 MB, 35.5 Hours) Handheld Digital Voice Recorder

I bought the VN-2100PC to record and download important conversations as well as messages from my phone with the intent that I could then put these on a CD for review by myself as well as others while in the car or at home.

The recorder has a multitude of good features like folders and high quality recording as well as decent software for transfering recordings to your computer although I was disappointed in it's lightweight feel. It just doesn't feel like a quality device although that may be deceptive.

It turns out that I wasted my money....you CAN NOT TRANSFER THE RECORDED FILES TO A CD FOR PLAYBACK BY A MUSIC PLAYER e.g. your car CD player. You can play them back through your computer however but for my purposes that is a severe limitation. Sure wish that limitation had been highlighted in the marketing literature.
