Too many features mean too many buttons to push

by  glaw95,   Sep 24, 2007

Pros:  Looks sleek; seems to get better reception than 650

Cons:  Too many features and too many clicks to do simple tasks

The Bottom Line:  If you want a PDA with phone functions as an afterthought, this is for you. If you want an easy to use cell phone with PDA features, avoid the 750.

I upgraded from a TREO 650 with the Palm OS about a month ago because my work thought the Windows OS would be better. So far I have been unimpressed with the Treo 750. It takes too many clicks to do what used to be simple tasks. To check voice mail, I click "Voicemail" and then it asks me to pick voice of email (even though I just clicked "voicemail"). Pick voicemail and I am then given the opportunity to dial voicemail. That is three clicks for one operation that has always been a single choice on every other phone I have owned.

I had to quit using my Bluetooth ear piece because if it is on it requires me to go through numerous menus to just use the phone. My old Treo required one click on the screen to use the phone.

I cannot get the camera to work and am sure that it is either an easy fix or I have not figured out how to work the camera. My problem is that I should not have to figure it out. If it's not intuitive, it's too complicated.

I have owned multiple Palm devices in the past and have always appreciated their simplicity. This is my first experience with Windows OS and I am not impressed.

If you want a PDA with a phone attached, this is a great device. If you want a phone with PDA features, I would not recommend this device
