Great close shave for a reasonable price
Date of Review: Jul 19, 2008
The Bottom Line: Bottom Line--I think this is a good value for the under $100 price.
s I seem to waffle back and forth on whether or not I prefer an electric razor or a shave with a blade. Every couple of years I seem to try out whatever the newest razor is from Gillette. Then, when I find out how ridiculous the price of replacement blades are, I consider going to an electric razor. Most recently, I was using a rather expensive Braun until it got stolen from my car.
I was very pleased to have the opportunity to try the new Philips Norelco razor through BzzAgent, a word-of-mouth Marketing firm. I have to admit that I've been very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the shave, and the ease of use of the product.
First, if you compare the Philips Norelco to other brands, you'll notice that the circular rotating blades are quite a bit different than other electric razors. I've really enjoyed this design. Usually my major problem area is my throat. I've been able to have my throat thoroughly without any sort of abrasion or irritation.
The razor charges quickly. One key note--the instructions say not to keep the razor plugged in all of the time--just to charge it when the battery is running low.
One great benefit is the ease of cleaning. It is as simple as advertised. You simply press a button and rinse under water. I've found that after a couple of weeks getting used to the razor, I know prefer the quality of this shave to both my Gillette blades and my old Braun electric razor.
