Epinions SLR goes wireless!

by  bogbeast,  Dec 22, 2002
Pros: X-Ray like infra-red reception, great range, cheaper than wired remote, comes with batteries.
Cons: Cheap plastic casing, continuous shooting not available via remote.
The Bottom Line: Great buy for the money! Great little toy opening a whole new world of exposure control.
Review: Bought the RC-1 for long exposures with my EOS Elan 7E, in which pressing the shutter can potentially move camera and fuzz the exposure (no matter how rock steady my tripod may be). I had a hard time deciding between this and the wired version of the...

Epinions A Quality Camera under $200.

by  synthetic_one,  Oct 16, 2007
Pros: Easy enough and good enough for most users. Lots of quality for the money.
Cons: About perfect for what it is and what it costs.
The Bottom Line: Buy this camera for quality performance and price. I don't see anything else in this price band that really competes.
Review: $189 buys a very capable digital camera at Sam's Club. To that purchase you'll need to add a 1GB (or better) Memory Stick Duo Pro ($33), screen protector ($10), and belt-loop case ($15)for basic operations. Total $247. What makes this camera so ...

Epinions Great tool for Digital Rebel

by  ethnosax,  Mar 20, 2007
Pros: Locks onto the camera neckstrap; does its job very well
Cons: Price
The Bottom Line: If you have a Digital Rebel, this should be an automatic purchase to go with it.
Review: Though I'm hardly a great photographer, one thing I've always loved ever since beginning to use an SLR is taking long-exposure shots. I love setting up the tripod and taking pictures of lightning streaking through the sky during thunderstorms, or ...

Epinions Handy tool for the Rebel (and other compatible models) - Canon RC-1 Remote Control

by  jps246,  Mar 26, 2007
Pros: Simple and easy to use, Long battery life, Locked, regular and delayed modes
Cons: IR requires line-of-sight to fire camera
The Bottom Line: If you have a Canon Rebel or any of the other compatible models, go out and get one of these, you'll wonder why you hadn't gotten one earlier
Review: If you have a digital Rebel camera (or any of the several Canon models that this remote supports), this handy little remote control can let you take group photos or long exposure shots without having to touch the camera. While it’s not perfect, ...

Epinions Inexpensive solution for group photographs

by  suffocate,  Feb 6, 2003
Pros: Works well, small, easy to operate.
Cons: Easy to lose, a little flimsy.
The Bottom Line: The RC-1 is an excellent accessory for many popular Canon cameras. It is both functional and inexpensive.
Review: The RC-1 remote control from Canon can be used to operate the shutter release on many popular cameras including Elan II/e and EOS IX. This wireless remote can be used up to 16 feet (5 metres) from the camera infront, or from a few feet behind. This is a...

Epinions Get yourself into the picture

by  tjapkesg,  Aug 7, 2008
Pros: Storage convenience, wireless, sturdy, 2 sec w/ mirror lock, works with bulb mode
Cons: IR limitations; No L mode (mirror lock) with Rebel XT
The Bottom Line: While there are some caveats that won't please professionals, it is small and convenient, while giving you the ability to get yourself into group shots.
Review: Being in IT, I have purchased a good number of digital cameras over the years, and one of the things that caught my eye about 8 years ago was the emergence of wireless remotes. Back then, it was somewhat of a side note, and it doesn't seem that things ...

Epinions Excellent except for one MAJOR problem

by  got2cook,  Aug 3, 2006
Pros: digital display, removable base, even cooking, large
Cons: mine kept shutting off in the middle of cooking for no apparent reason
Review: I loved this electric skillet at first. It has a digital display. It is LARGE. It has a clear top so you can see what you are cooking without opening the top. It seems to heat evenly. You can remove the skillet from the base for easy cleaning and ...
