oh my god!!!

I've just managed to get this amp on ebay for £13!!!

I'm powering it with a 13.8V 3A C.B. radio power supply.
It's now starting to warm through and it's producing fantastic sound. I'm running it at half power so to get some decent SPLs i'm driving the input quite hard with a NAD pre-amp. It'll go loud-ish but you know when it's working too hard..your ears will warn you!!

I've put about 1-2 dB bass lift in at 100Hz, i think it needs it. Now all you audiophiles out there will be sniffing your noses at that because i know we don't like uneccesarry circuits in our signal paths. But the way i see it is like this, by buying a power amp that's running at 5-6 watts (at full power of 10w into 8 ohms the thd figure is 10%!!), with a 3.5mm mini jack as an input connector and using cheap 1.5mm spring clip speaker terminals we've thrown our audiophile pre conceptions out of the window. I had to do a right hatchet job to get my bi-wire speaker cables in. So adding a little bit of bass is nothing. Beside that, what you gain in clarity from the amp you can afford to lose a bit from the bass circuit and still be better off.

This is a great piece of kit, i'm buying 2 more. One for a spare because i don't think they're that reliable and one to mess about modding.
