Its design is elegant, slim casing and with beautiful pearl white color. It has dual inputs for both analog VGA and DVI of which the latter input format is obviously sharper and clearer for the output picture. There is an "input" button on the front for the user to select the input. Therefore, one can connect both inputs as the same time to the monitor for two devices. Under this configuration, however, one would need to push the "input" button each time if the displayed screen is incorrect or there is no signal.
In DVI mode, most of the analog fine tuning settings are disabled. It seems that only brightness and contrast can be adjusted. However, if one still found the color or brightness, etc. are not satisfactory as one would prefer, simply use the driver's setting utility (in the "display properties" to adjust. There is also a special separate utility for fine tuning even more things, it will generate a new color profile file in the end. The maximum refresh rate for 1024*768 (raw resolution) in DVI mode is 70Hz instead of 75Hz in the specification.
The monitor itself is simply having no disadvantage, IMO. The only thing is that it is too sharp to view for prolonged time. But the QC at factory is poor. The story is that when I bought this unit, I chose my one after opening the third box. The first one has a defective button on the front panel. The second one couldn't display black color!?
Nevertheless, the local technical support staff is of very good manner and very helpful indeed.
(LCD monitors which I used before include Sony, NEC and EIZO 15" models but this Samsung is found to be the best amongst, maybe none of the previous model is DVI compatible)
