Worth every penny!

The Bottom Line: SEBO vacuums are sleepers. Great vacuums at any price. No major squawks.
My wife and I went into a local vacuum store (Ace Vacuum/Ashburn, VA) to have our broken Dyson (blown clutch) repaired. Dyson had agreed to repair it under warranty.
I wasn't that thrilled with the Dyson but my wife really liked it. He showed us the SEBO uprights, including the X4 Extra. After an hour of test-driving it; we traded in the Dyson. No vacuum is perfect. Everyone has a preference. But, after bringing it home and spending the evening vacuuming (so much for romance); we were suitably impressed. It's easy to use, self-propelled, easy to clean and the filtration is great. The X4 Extra has the extra attachments, including the long hose and turbo head for upholstery, stairs and bedding. Get that one over the regular X4. They're the same price. My ONLY gripe is it doesn't like stand alone rugs. It keeps shutting off. The logic gets fooled into thinking it's picking up a foreign object. But the Dyson wouldn't clean those rugs, either. It made all sorts of noise.
Now; the house is quite clean--the unit is probably 20 db quieter than the Dyson--and we don't have to deal with the dust cup anymore.
During our visit; a customer came in to pick up a SEBO dry carpet cleaner. He said, unsolicited, that he had been through several makes, including Oreck, Miele and Dyson--and threw them in the trash for a SEBO.
Again; no vacuum is perfect. But we're very impressed, regardless of the price. Sad better-known brands like Hoover can't make something this good.
If you're looking for a trouble-free vacuum that can handle just about everything; you won't go wrong with the X4 Extra. I HATE to vacuum and I LOVE using this vacuum cleaner!
