Sound Tight and Fit TIght

Date of Review:  Sep 14, 2005
The Bottom Line: The E3Cs sound great but the fit is awkward. Look no further for sub $175 headphones but buy from a place that takes returns should you not like the fit.
Review: Never a fan of traditional earbuds, both on the issue of sound and comfort, the first thing I did when I bought my original iPod was search out a comfortable, but decent sounding pair of headphones. After much trial and error I decided on the Sony...

Where have these been all my life?

Date of Review:  Oct 8, 2006
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend these headphones because of their quality sound and construction coupled with the fact that they actually stay in your ears while providing all that excellent sound!
Review: My dilemna

I've always struggled with cheaply made headsets (from the ones included with my iPod to several others I've bought in my search for the best mix of comfort and performance).

When jogging or walking, the iPod standard...

Great sound and noise cancellation

Date of Review:  Sep 6, 2005
The Bottom Line: Definitely recommended for those who want superior sound quality, noise isolation, and comfort at an affordable price.
Review: I originally purchased the E2C as a replacement to my Sony EX51. While the sound was noticeably better, after 2 weeks, I just couldn't find an acceptable level of comfort with them. I also wasn't able to find a set of sleeves that would stay put for...

Watch out with this rip off!!

Date of Review:  Jun 1, 2006
Review: I can't stand poor sound quality, so I can't stand this pieces of rubbish. I can't believe Shure sells this pieces of junk for such high price.
I've got an iAudio 5 which is the best MP3 player you can get and the headphones it comes with...

Great sound but not very durable

Date of Review:  Jul 30, 2008
The Bottom Line: A worthwhile purchase for the sound quality but you might be disappointed with their durability.
Review: I have owned three sets of the Shure E3C earphones over the last three years.
The sound quality is excellent and far superior to the included earphones supplied with the Ipod video or the Sony or Sennheiser sound isolating earphones I have...

Super clear sound, but meagre on bass, and too much hassle.

Date of Review:  Oct 27, 2005
The Bottom Line: Not recommended. Awesome mids and overall clarity do not compensate for discomfort, hassle, and lacking bass.
Review: So, I decided to try out a canal earphone, not knowing what to expect (my dealer wouldn't let me try them out as the ear cushions come into contact with all kinds of destructive ear wax stuff). After an initial struggle which you have to go through,...

Good, But There's One Canalphone That Sounds Just As Good

Date of Review:  Feb 23, 2007
Review: These E3c canalphones give you the best of both words, small and sound. They are small enough to put in your pocket yet have big enough sound to blow you away. These E3C's do that, with a decent bass response, good mids, and good treble without...

Great quality, with no white noise from noise canceling

Date of Review:  Jul 23, 2005
Review: I recently purchased the E3c to replace my bulky Sony MDR NC11s. I am a bit of a audiophile and can't stand to listen to poor quality. I have to say that these headphones are wonderful. I don't have to crank the volume on my iPod (Apple Lossless...

Shure E3C: Canalphones

Date of Review:  Jul 26, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for canalphones in this price range, go for the Shures
Review: Well I'm sitting here listening to my 30gb iPod after I found the Shure e3c's I ordered right next to the front door. I immediately opened them and put them into my ears. It didn't fit and I forgot that I needed to find the right fit, too anxious...

Good? Yes. $200 good? Hmm...

Date of Review:  Jul 3, 2007
The Bottom Line: solid but expensive
Review: I think I can accurately put myself in the category in between an audiophile and an average iPod-earbud wearing dude. I guess you could say I'm in the willing-to-spend-$40-$80-on-headphones category. But I've always wanted to try some really...
