I started using this camera about on Mother's Day weekend and continue to be amazed at what a great photographer it makes me! I was using a very nice Kodak digital camera and struggling with capturing good indoor shots in natural light. This camera excels at natural light shots. I have primarily used the "easy" setting and occasionally turned the flash off and made my own adjustments. Even with the accidental use of a flash here and there the pictures are great. The flash doesn't wash out the photo.
Camera controls are fairly easy to get used to. Spent about a half hour familiarizing myself with it and haven't had any difficulty finding controls. Have had spotty success with the smile detection function. Sometime it seems to not be able to tell when the smile is happening. But it's an interesting idea.
I really love the reaction time from taking the picture to shutter reacting. Funny thing, I keep thinking I missed the photo because the shutter sound effect seems delayed. But I always seem to get the shot, which is good because I'm chasing a 6 year old and infant smiles!
Used the camera in really bright sun on a boat yesterday and loved how I could still use the lcd screen to frame my shots. Even in bright sun the details are very visible.
The only thing I don't love is the kind of gimmicky "slide show" presentation with music. But you don't HAVE to use it to see your pix. You can just turn camera on in play mode and view them at your speed with the toggle switch.
10.1mp makes the photos absolutely HUGE! But they sure are beautifully detailed. Going to need more memory sticks. Which brings me to another bugaboo, the SONY memory stick Pro Duo isn't compatible with any of my readers (Kodak AIO Printer and dazzle) without an adapter.
Size is great, fits right in a pocket or cell phone sized area of my purse. Bottom line is that this is a very capable camera that will be taking pictures with me for a long time.
