Great Camera for the Money

The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this camera for the average user who wants great photos without investing hundreds of dollars in a camera. It is also very compact.
I was in the market for a budget priced digital camera. Since technology changes so quickly, I could not see investing in a camera which only may last me 3 years or less. My previous camera was a Kodak DC 280 and when it was new, I paid several hundred dollars for it. Never again.
This camera has excellent picture quality and very short lag time between shots. It has various lighting modes and some overrides for the more experienced photographer. I like the fact that it uses 2 AA batteries and the battery life has been very good. If you are a heavy user, you can opt for rechargeable batteries as well.
Models which cost $70 more may have a larger LCD screen and a few other bells and whistles, but I did not think they were worth it. It is a very easy camera to learn, and that's exactly what I got.
The directions are very straight forward and if you load the CD on your computer, there is a more extensive manual to review.
The camera uses a Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo. Unfortunately, this must be purchased separately. I recommend getting at least a 2 GB which will give you over 100 pictures in full 7.2 mode.
The reason I selected this camera over some others is that I know friends who own Sony Cyber-Shot cameras and they have been very pleased with the results. I think you get a lot of bang for your buck with this one.
