Epinions Do you really need this for your camera?

by  jedi29,  Feb 21, 2004
Pros: Improves image quality and camera performance
Cons: Battery life
The Bottom Line: A pricey but necessary extra for your digital camera
Review: I'm not a professional photographer, so why did I need an external flash? For one thing I can't stand red eye! Every digital camera I bought has produced "demon shots." In-camera red eye reduction has always been worthless in my case, why even offer ...

Epinions Excellent performance and value for the money

by  misiozor,  Nov 7, 2005
Pros: Excellent value for the money + Supports Ni-MH accus + Supports TTL with Sony DSC-V3
Cons: Longer time between flashes when using Ni-MH
Review: Since I was tired with very bad performance of the flash build into my Sony DSC-V3 I decided to purchase this one. I've bought it new on ebay for $129.95. The very important positive surprise is that it DOES SUPPORT TTL. It does that only with the ...

by  drbme,  Jul 10, 2004
Pros: Stylish. Neat backlit display. I liked the integrated pulldown diffuser.
Cons: Does not support TTL as advertised, fires a pre-flash instead. Expensive.
The Bottom Line: Too expensive for what you get. Compare to the $79 Vivitar 285 or the $69 Sunpak 383, which have the same basic functions.
Review: I've had my Sony DSC-F828 camera for about 6 months now, and FINALLY the HVL-F32X became available. The HVL-F32X flash is compatible with a number of Sony digicams, but it is advertised as more highly integrated with the upper line DSC-F828, as it ...
