Beautiful display

I purchased the Starwars edition ceramic white PSP-2001 (same as the PSP-2000 but in white) because of the stunning display that is still thus far unmatched by other handhelds. The price of the PSP is steep but I believe that besides game choice, which the PSP has a deep library of, the display is one of the most important hardware choices when buying a handheld these days.

The PSP is also reloaded with features. The LCD is brighter than the previous version. Wi-Fi is maintained. The load speed has improved with the 333 mHz processor and memory reconfiguration, and the addition of the video out ability is a great bonus. I also appreciated the slimmer size of the device. Now you can slip it into your pocket without feeling like you're wearing a leg brace. The buttons retain their classic playstation feel and the small joysick/button mouse remains. The UMD loading door was also changed - for some unknown reason.

The biggest drawback still with the PSP is it's inability to playback all video and audio content. The wifi ability opens up the internet but because of the limited formats that the device can play or display, it significantly hinders the internet usability. I also find it annoying that inorder to trully manage the files on the PSP you need to purchase a 'media manager' program. This should come with the device, in my opinion, or at least a basic form should be included.

Overall, the PSP is the best handheld in the market today for its stunning display, game library, and general usability. There are a few items lacking but most can be fixed with future software updates.
