Epinions A serious handheld...and more than a game system

by  ratnarat,  Dec 25, 2005
Pros: Gorgeous, has many features, has amazing gaming, well made
Cons: Multimedia functions are only adequate compared to a PDA or iPod, few killer games
The Bottom Line: Get a PSP. There's just no reason not to, and Sony has risen above the call of duty.
Review: Let me preface this review by saying that i've owned a fair proportion of handheld gaming devices. From the original Game Boy, to the ill-fated Game.Com up to the Nintendo DS, I've played a good deal of mobile games. Some say that mobile games are best ...

Epinions Currently the best portable gaming device on the market!

by  dougf,  Apr 3, 2005
Pros: Small, graphics, gameplay, responsive, wireless, and fun!
Cons: Screen smudges and/or scratches easily, screen is bad in sunlight.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this to older gamers. Once you see it, you immediately have to own it. Great for games and other multi-media features.
Review: I purchased the Sony PSP (Playstation Portable) on Saturday, March 26. I always liked portable gaming devices, but never found myself satisfied for too long with what became available. I got one of the first Gameboys that came out years ago, last year ...

Epinions Step aside DS, PSP is the new kid in town

by  doorstopman,  Apr 18, 2005
Pros: Beautiful design, sleek graphics, great sound
Cons: UMD load time, battery life, price
The Bottom Line: If you have the money to dish out, definitely get one!
Review: In December of 2004, the race for the new handheld gaming system was underway between Nintendo and Sony. Nintendo introduced a system called the DS or Dual Screen in the fourth quarter of 2004. Me, being the sucker I am, purchased the DS as soon as it ...

Epinions FREE PSP!...I wish...

by  den_inte_dod,  Oct 10, 2005
Pros: Best pocket gaming console of 2005!
Cons: Better start saving up CA$H! (unless you did what I did!)
The Bottom Line: The PSP is better than Nintendo DS and Gamebody Advance SP!
Review: I have always been a major video game lover, and I would never miss out on some sort of new gaming device. Even today I still love playing my Nintendo and Gameboy. I had a good feeling that the game systems that are coming out day after day ...

Epinions Excellent gaming and media device, but not everything is perfect.

by  tigerous,  Jul 12, 2008
Pros: excellent graphics, great games, large list of multimedia and PDA functions, near limitless potential
Cons: construction is flimsy, requires a seperate memory stick, poor sound quality, long load times
The Bottom Line: Individuals looking for more than just a game system should consider the PSP their first choice. Individuals looking for something more kid friendly should probably look to the Nintendo DS.
Review: I have been a PSP owner since the system originally launched. Recently, I decided to upgrade my original PSP to the new slim model when they released the red God of War version. However, I still have one first gen PSP as well. While many things have been ...

Epinions Sony's PSP: Most Potential, So-So Sony Support, Still Worthwhile

by  pixelator,  Dec 31, 2004
Pros: PS2 performance, screen, audio, 1.8GB UMD, design, analog, quality, integrated WiFi, decent battery.
Cons: Delicate screen, UMD load times, MemStick pricing, mild screen ghosting, screen bad in sunlight.
The Bottom Line: The most powerful handheld game system. Multimedia, huge list of upcoming software and developer support, gobs of accessories and now only costs $40 more than a DS.
Review: Few topics on the web incite such fervor and virtual 'activism' as the good old game console wars. Sites like Gamespot and IGN are hotbeds for endless meandering tirades between fanboys hell-bent on proving their fav system as the superior. It should ...

Epinions Top Quality Handheld Gaming Device

by  maxinater,  Dec 5, 2007
Pros: Design, quality of games, graphics, movies, music, photos
Cons: Load times, fragile
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a great handheld gaming system with great graphics, a huge screen, and has quality games, then the PSP is for you.
Review: The PSP is certainly the best handheld gaming system that I have ever owned, or seen. The PSP is Sony’s first attempt at a handheld gaming system, and they certainly did a great job. Features The PSP comes stock with many features, much ...

Epinions The PSP: Impressive And Functional

by  s68x,  Jun 24, 2008
Pros: Large, high-quality screen & graphics, many useful functions, relatively inexpensive considering the features, PS3 connectivity.
Cons: Can be confusing for some, weak web browser, games, accessories & memory can get expensive.
The Bottom Line: A great feature-packed gadget for gamers and people who are out and about often, but it's somewhat complicated at times so it's not for younger children.
Review: The original PSP was released in May of 2005 and was a big success, selling over 31 million worldwide. The PSP features more mature games rather than family and child-oriented games the DS does as well as much better graphics, which many have said are ...

Cons: expensive MemoryStick technology; expensive games; fingerprint and coveting prone
The Bottom Line: this is the sound (and sight) of convergence. amazing games and media playback features in the sleekest of presentations yet to grace your hands.
Review: here's another review from someone how ACTUALLY has it in-hand.it was rare, but it's becoming more of a common occurrence that design has a bit to do with what a handheld console's identity will eventually be tied to.the Nintendo Gameboy SP ...
