Sony ICFCD855V Clock Radio

This unit has it all! At least it lists all the features you need in the specs., but it doesn't live up to expectations. The build quality, style, features & materials are very good, it's performance that is lacking here. The audio is adequate ( for a clock radio), but CD playback is marginal if there is any bass content. The FM & Weather reception is extremely poor. Every radio in my house picks up better than this one. The unit is easy to set up & use, but don't loose power, as there is no battery back-up for the clock & alarm! That's right, loose power during the night & you miss your cruise ship departure the next morning. Apart from the superior materials & style, this is effectively a $20 clock radio. (I purchased mine for $39 & I will return it. Sony has clearly produced a product that, in concept, is very good, but it is not implemented well. Where have you gone Sony?
