Epinions Awesome little camera

by  pgmark,  Feb 5, 2001
Pros: Lots of features, fun to use
Cons: Instructions can be unclear at times, no carrying case
The Bottom Line: This camera is totally awesome, it's loaded with features. I recommend one to anybody not going on a very long trip, unless you don't mind buying several memory cards
Review: I got this camera for Christmas, right after I got back from a long trip. Before I went on the trip, I decided I wanted a digital camera, but I didnt know which one. Also, I was torn between 3.5' floppys vs. memory sticks. Although I left on the trip...

Epinions WOW! 3.3 Megapixel, small package. Phenomenal Camera

by  davidgeller,  Jun 7, 2000
Pros: Great lens, high res imaging, small form factor
Cons: Zoom is mixed optical/digital
Review: If you've been thinking consumer-grade digital cameras weren't quite up to your standards or good enough for producing fairly large prints on your color inkjet, well, you've been right. However, Sony has just released a new digital camera that will...

Epinions Excellent SLR-like 6 megapixel camera for beginners or experienced photographers

by  v908,  Jun 27, 2006
Pros: AA battery size, 12x optical zoom (with image stabilization), ease of use.
Cons: Slow burst mode, pricey memory media (Memory Stick Duo)
The Bottom Line: Great camera for beginners to experts -- if it doesn't need to fit in your pocket. 12x zoom, image stabilization, and reasonable price are huge pluses.
Review: After owning and/or using a slew of mostly very good to excellent "point and shoot" compact and sub-compact digital cameras, I was yearning for more creative control (e.g., shutter speed and aperture control) -- I was missing my old 35mm film SLR... ...

Epinions I bought the Sony DSC-s70, a prime choice in superior digital imaging

by  echoluna,  Feb 24, 2001
Pros: excellent quality photos, amazing resolution and realism
Cons: Action shots are very difficult
The Bottom Line: It's the perfect camera, except for the shutter delay.
Review: I began looking for a digital camera several months ago. My demands were not terribly specific but I knew I wanted something that had resolution good enough to take photos that looked like the real thing. I wanted a good optical zoom, and enough manual...

Epinions One Great Camera.

by  Ready10,  Oct 5, 2000
Pros: Photo size range, external flash available, lightweight, compact, user friendly.
Cons: Three draw backs to this camera are: It takes what is called a memory stick, meaning you need to down load the photos or you need a PC to view the photos full size. Your computer needs to have a USB connection and capabilities to use this camera. The view
Review: I have used several different digital cameras, including Kodak, Fuji, and Yashica. I am a Field Engineer who redesigns systems in the field. It is extremely important to me a camera give a wide range of options. I started using Sony digital cameras three...

by  kchin,  Dec 17, 2000
Pros: 3.3 Megapixel, Full featured, Easy to use, Bright LCD, Excellent Battery, Excellent photo quality
Cons: Separate lens cap, slow recycle time, included 8MB mem stick is too small
The Bottom Line: If you want a moderately high amount of control and occasionally some point and shoot convenience, this is a great camera!! I'd definitely buy it again...

Epinions Great Camera - Lousy Support

by  rochambeau,  Aug 30, 2000
Pros: Image quality, features vs price
Cons: Totally lame flash, Sony Support bites
Review: After much research into the digital camera world (which left me more confused than when I started), I decided to play it safe and go with Sony. After all, their brand name carries the weight.

I was not disappointed. The DSC-S70 is a...

Cons: A hair expensive, even if it has great bang for the buck

Epinions DSC-S70: Excellent value used if you can find it under $200.

by  oyobass,  Nov 24, 2004
Pros: Great lens. Nice low-light performance. Beautiful vivid colors. Good value used. Professional-looking pictures
Cons: SLOW, but work-arounds are possible. Not a pocket-sized camera. A little heavy.
The Bottom Line: Good value if you can find the DSC-S70 for $200 or less. Consider this trade-off, though: Great pictures vs. speed, with more features on newer cameras.
Review: What a Find! I bought a second-hand DSC-S70 a month ago for $91! I had been wanting to buy a digital camera for personal use, having used several Sony and one Minolta digi-cam at work. I was prepared to put out between $400 & $500 to get the ...
