Bad choice among professional minidisc players

Date of Review: Aug 2, 2007

This is a bad choice among professional
minidisc players. We've had units suddenly
stop in the middle of recording something
at the radio station I work for. (4 of our
first 6 units did this and one other sometimes
cut the end off a recording.) The MD350's run
time display reverts to count up time everytime
discs are stopped or changed, an inconvenience
when deejaying or audio engineering where
you always want a countdown timer. It's
adjust your editing point function tends
to have adjustments in large increments,
sometimes a disadvantage. You're better
off going on E-Bay or Guitar Center used
items to get a good condition Sony MDSE-10
or twin MDSE-12. (These models were discontinued.)
After working with the Tascam MD350 makes
me glad I bought an MDSE-10. It also makes me
wish the station got on E-Bay and got more
MDSE-10's and 12's rather than replace some of
them with the Tascam model.

Recommended to buy: No

Pros
Large adjust your edit point increments are good for quick editing.
Cons
May shut off in record mode. Precision edit point trims may be difficult.
