Self destruction

I used the unit twice...Once poolside just grilling some hot-dogs with my kids...Worked great...
The second time however wasn't so great...Angel Stadium tailgating before a game...Cooked some sausages, vegetables, and fish...I then tossed on a nice teriyaki marinated Top Sirloin...I noticed a flame jutting from the side near the igniter...Then the whole thing went up in flames...I poured water and soda on it but it continued to flame because of the propane...That area of the lot was filling with black smoke and then a cop pulled up and used his extinguisher on it...It looked like a used candle by the time it was over...
