Scary " up in flames "

The Bottom Line: Do not recommend, it is very dangerous.
I wish I looked here first. I was all proud of my purchase, and took it to a extended family camping reunion. I had used it the prior week-end, just to make sure it was okay. I couldn't wait to show it off. I started it up and after nicely cooking 6 burgers (thats all it fits at a time) I heard a pop. Then I immediately turned off the grill. All at once flames were shooting out beside the light. My brother is a fireman and tried to put it out, but the flames were unreachable. Right there is front of 18 people my $210 new grill(complete with back pack and griddle) turned into a smelly melted plastic mound of mush. My brother was able to get the grill into a clearing and someone came with a fire extinguisher. A fire extinguisher is the only way to get it out, nothing else worked. I am the kind of person who follows directions to the letter. If this can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. I am still waiting for a response from the company. These grills are very dangerous, and they should stop making them. Our family reunion almost turned into a funeral.
