I love this game! Rainbow six: Rouge Spear is a very challenging game, as well as fun. There are so many different possibilities in this game. For instance, you can map out the route that you want to take in your plans and try new ways to overcome the terrorists.
The game play is realistic and so are the scenarios. I like the idea that you are not battling aliens and monsters trying to save the world for an evil and sinister force of darkness.
There are so many little details that I like about the game. First, I like having to plan every step. This provides a challenge in it self. If you don't like planning then you can use the computers plan or you can modify the computers plan. Second, I like the idea that you die really easy. One shot, one kill. It's not like those other shoot'em up games where your guy takes 75 rounds to the back and then turns around like nothing happened and wastes the bad guy. I like the challenge of trying to do the missions silently, not letting the enemy know you are there.
The weapons in the game are real weapons and do a very good job at realism. You have a good selection of weapons and equipment that is your responsibility to assign to your team members. Don't know what to give them? Well, just use the default setting (what the computer already gave the person).
The missions are fun as well as challenging and are realistic in the sense that that situation could really happen. The bad guys act like bad guys, usually sitting around or watching out. They don't suspect a thing unless you give them a reason to. If you open a door and there is a bad guy around the corner then he might hear it and come looking around. If you are spotted they usually yell and everyone comes running.
As far as the multiplayer option, I haven't been able to try it out because every time I log onto the Mplayer site, they won't let the game start. This has nothing to do with the game, just the Mplayer site.
You can change your skill level from easy to hard and there is a whole training option that helps you get familiar with the game. You can target practice or rescue hostages.
This game is by for one of the best games I have ever played and apart form needing more levels, this game Is the greatest. There are more levels available as a separate feature that you must buy. Well, that's marketing for you, Make a great game then SELL more levels separately.
The game is great, good game play and realistic. It gets a ten in my books.
Get the game and play it!
