Quake with a brain.

Unlike Quake this game is about being slow and persistent. This game also makes better use of multiplayer/team play. This game is best played with others, especially if you are in the same room. Since its hard to type fast and play, it helps being side by side. I played on the zone.com and had some great games. The only thing I didnt like was that there weren't enough missions that were small enough to play multiplayer games. (The bigger the levels the worse the latency.)
There were some design flaws in the levels, such as start points in one of the congo missions, one team started off in a vulnerable spot, making them easy to pick off as they entered from the forest. I thought it was a little cheap to kill someone from shooting them in the leg, but thats more of nitpick.
The AI needed some improvement, and the single player missions could get annoying setting up all player movement. I preferred just starting the game, and using one or two guys at a time.
I believe many of the issues with RS were fixed in Rogue Spear. Overall, it's one of the best first person shooter games I've played in a long while.
