I Will Follow You: TomTom One Faithfully Guides Us to our Destinations

by   smiles33 ,  Jun 1, 2009
Pros: * Portable
* Easy to use
* Clear directions
* Additional points of interest options
Cons: * GPS delay upon start-up
* Mounting system disappointing
* Not always accurate
The Bottom Line: This is a wonderful tool to make any driver's life easier and is far more budget-friendly than the built-in navigation systems.  It's best for casual drivers on a budget.
Review: For drivers who regularly travel to unfamiliar areas, a GPS navigation system has become a critical tool to greatly simplify one's life.  For others like my husband and me (who only occasionally travel to unfamiliar places), it's a much appreciated ...

Worked til out of warranty, then broke

by   retaeh ,  May 26, 2009
Pros: cheap, and there's a reason it's cheap
Cons: it's a piece of crap.
Review: My Tom Tom worked okay. It didn't come with the traffic included, like it said on the box. That was extra software you had to pay to install, and then pay for monthly. So scratch that off the list.Very often, it would take up to 10 minutes to find a ...

Keep Looking - This one has too many minuses

by   Ideaman7777 ,  May 7, 2009
Pros: Provides substandard functionality at a budget price
Might do where better models are not affordable..
Cons: Underestimates nearby distances.
Cannot find/enter some addresses.
Variable outsourced tech support. Can't reach company.
The Bottom Line:

Watch out for hidden flaws!

Review: One major shortcoming is that announced upcoming distances are in reality only a fraction of what the announcements state they are. So if this model says to turn on such and such a street 300 yards ahead, you better be ready to turn well before that, ...

The Bottom Line: TomTom ONE 3rd Edition is a great GPS navigation device and will fit just about every ones budget. It's easy to use and has plenty of great features! Do buy!!
Review: The Husband and I bought the TomTom ONE 3rd Edition for our anniversary last year. We were going on a trip to Los Angeles and decided we might need the extra navigation, we weren't disappoin ted! Got ...

Convenient, not always trustworthy and occasionally dangerous

by   jlockley ,  Mar 31, 2009
Pros: Finds most destinations, traffic information, ETA, good price.
Cons: Falls of windshield, requires fiddling when driving and is often incorrect. Switches destinations underway. Battery.
The Bottom Line: Adequate with many conveniences, but there must be better models.
Review: This GPS device allows you to enter address, shows points of interest like gas stations, Gives distance and estimated time of arrival. It permits night and day views, shows detail or full route, warns of toll crossings, asks if you need to arrive at a ...
