First GPS, pleased so far (US version)

My husband is on the road constantly for work and is always calling me having me look up how to get from point A to point B so I decided to get him a GPS for Christmas. I didn't want to spend a lot because I wasn't sure if he would even want it so when I found the TomTom for the price I did at Best Buy I couldn't resist.

Now past the specs. Our first test of this was on a trip from Missouri to Dallas during New Years. We printed out yahoo directions just in case something seemed odd but we never had to use them, it was on the dot with everything. I wish it would tell us what exit to take instead of "turn right at 200 feet" but to get that you have to spend more money.

The other con was we were running out of gas so we looked up nearest gas stations. It was giving us gas stations where there was no exit (but I'm sure there was a town in the distance) so that was frustrating, but everything else was pretty much to the point. And, if you get stuck in traffic all you have to do is hit "alt route" and it will reroute you a different way, which was very helpful while we were in Dallas.

My husband has found it pretty accurate so far except for when he had to go to a very small town, it was telling him to go somewhere when he knew it wasn't right, not sure what happened on that one. There are updated maps you can download but I heard sometimes it can mess it up so we haven't done that since we have been very pleased so far, definitely a great GPS for your first time!
