Multi-purpose GPS!

The Bottom Line: This unit can make your daily "car-life" a lot easier!
The most important reason for buying a GPS is for directions and the TOMTOM ONE XL GB Car GPS Receiver functions superbly. The maps seem to be well updated. There was a recent development in my neighborhood (2005) that turned a dead end into a through road. While a friends Garmin did not have the updated info, my TomTom knew of the change.
I also like that the ONE XL is slim and light-weight. I have packed it in my camelback for quick reference while biking, help located the nearest road while hiking a new place or to find my hotel after walking a new city...very helpful!
The windshield mounting unit is surprisingly strong. It is a simple suction cup, but it holds very well.
In the period of time I have used the TomTom One XL-S I have become enamoured of it and what it can do.
