Cons: Not progressive scan

Review: What you get when you buy this DVD player is nothing but good quality. It's features are well placed leaving almost nothing to be wanted. The only problem I had was the lack of a dial on the remote for slow motion and such, but I hardly ever use...

Pros: Price
Cons: PAL discs are for Europe, not USA. This is a fatal flaw.

Review: We bought this DVD player from Toshiba. After 9 months, it spontaneously gave us the message "Not PAL Format. Insert PAL Format Disc". When we called Toshiba, they said this was impossible since they only build for Japan and the USA, who both use...

Pros: Excellent features and performance
Cons: Try getting it serviced. It is a joke.
The Bottom Line: If you lease cars and are happy. If you buy new A/V equipment every year and throw the old away - then I recommend this product.

Review: I work at a repair center and have a fat stack of the 2700-2800 series DVD players. Dozens of them that would be so easy to repair, but are cost prohibitive. We have bets placed on the target month that the stack will reach the ceiling.

Pros: Endless features, Price
Cons: DVD decoder can't keep up with movie signal thus showing B&W frames in the movie.
The Bottom Line: A DVD player with a decoder that can't keep up with today's fast action movies, thus showing 'glitches' and B&W frames during high/low contrast action scenes.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: This DVD player has been exceptional for the last year until now! By watching DVD movies as much as I have, you begin to notice 'glitches' in the system. The problem arises when you watch DVD movies with fast moving, high contrast-then dark action...

Review: I've had a Toshiba 32" TV for almost 8 years and it's been nearly perfect, except for the Picture in Picture conking out a while back. (I get around that by using my VCR as my picture in picture...and that works just fine.)
So I figured,... |

Pros: Inexpensive first time DVD Player for those just getting into the DVD swing.
Cons: None for our limited use
The Bottom Line: For the beginner into DVD land, this machine has quality, clarity, and price behind it. A sure thing when you are on a tight budget and like good things.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Ok, it's been several years since DVD players came out, but after buying a new home and living on a tight budget, we were restricted to reviewing our old VHS tapes for entertainment. Our first hint at needing a DVD player is when Lord of the Rings...
