Author's Review
I've had a Toshiba 32" TV for almost 8 years and it's been nearly perfect, except for the Picture in Picture conking out a while back. (I get around that by using my VCR as my picture in picture...and that works just fine.)
So I figured, "Hey, Toshiba makes high quality, right? This DVD player will be just fine."
And it was, for a year or two. Today, the door keeps popping open and closed by itself, and there is a constant clicking noise.
While it worked, it was great. I had no troubles whatsoever with it until now. But now, it's soon to be in the garbage heap.
For $120 , you expect your DVD player to last "a few years", right? Heck, today you can buy a progressive scan DVD player for $30. And I'd bet that it would last "a couple of years" also.
Perhaps I shouldn't complain too much. This was the incentive I needed to go out and buy a Home Theatre set-up with a 5-DVD changer, which I had been contemplating for months.
