I bought this a few weeks back and had a problem with the first one that was delivered. There was a solid line down the right side of the screen from top to bottom. It was not dead pixels because it would come and go. It was something in the controller/driver and the connectors because moving the screen would sometimes fix the problem temporarily. I RMAd that with my reseller and was sent a second monitor. The second that I was sent has 2 dead pixels and doesn't qualify for replacement under either the reseller or Viewsonic's warranty unless it gets worse. They allow 10, that's right 10 dead pixels before it can be replaced!
I use this monitor for photo/video editing as well as for some gaming every now and then. During fast action as in games or video/movies there is minor ghosting only. This aspect of the monitor is great. I have not tested the color with a spyder or other tool since I don't have easy access to one, but just by matching printed images from a calibrated printer to the monitor it is fairly accurate. One note here is that I had to turn the brightness down almost all of the way to get this performance, and it was still bright (too much so for a dark room).
Moving from a 19" to this 20" LCD has been a good experience, the only thing that could make it better would be if there weren't any dead pixels. This monitor's 1600x1200 resolution is amazing and allows for a lot of desktop real estate, that alone is worth the extra money over a 19". I am planning to eventually buy a second one of these to maximize the editing with Photoshop and Avid for video.
When I do buy again I will try to buy from a local store with no hassle returns (like Costco, if they carry them) to avoid and imperfect monitor.
