Bare-bones inexpensive microphone

Pros: Small and inexpensive
Cons: Mono input, sound quality only mediocre, short cord
The Bottom Line: Simple and cheap, but sound quality only marginally better than using the built in mic. Cord is too short.

Review: I wanted a microphone for doing interviews with my video camera. An external mic is strongly recommended in most books on video, to avoid noise from the camera's tape drive motors. There were a wide variety of microphones available at the store...

Fine inexpensive mic

Pros: Not a long, cumbersome cable. Voice quality. Discrete profile.
Cons: Picks up occasional shirt noise if moving around.
