VCR Type

There are various types of VCRs, which are determined by cassette capacity and/or VHS standards.

VHS
Refers to the traditional one cassette VHS player which is sufficient for watching movies and recording television programs.

Dual-Deck
Dual-Deck VCRs have 2-cassette capacity, allowing recording from one cassette to another.

S-VHS (Super VHS)
S-VHS VCRs provide higher resolution of 400 lines (as opposed to the 240 lines offered by standard VHS), and is great for taping from high-resolution sources such as digital satellite or DVD.

D-VHS (Digital VHS)
D-VHS VCRs provide high-definition recording of digital images and multi-channel broadcasts. It was specially designed to record HDTV signals.
