Depending on the layout of your kitchen, you may want to consider alternate hood designs.

Slide Out
Slide-out ventilation can be pulled out for use and retracted when not in use.

Standard/Traditional
These types of hoods are placed above the range and do not have a visible chimney. They are the simplest available unit design.
Wall Chimney / Canopy
These are mounted on the wall or under a cabinet.

Downdraft / Countertop
These hoods vent air downward, usually from a fixed or pop-up venting system along one side of the cooktop. These can also be used on a kitchen island.

Island Chimney/ Canopy
These hang and vent from the ceiling instead of being mounted to a wall, so they can be used over kitchen islands
