Perris Santal du Pacifique

PERRIS MONTECARLO Santal du Pacifique EDP 100 ml Sandalwood is an evergreen tree up to ten meters tall, capable of parasitizing the roots of other trees with its roots; it has pale yellow wood, with a characteristic musky odor. It has opposite and petiolate leaves, lanceolate in shape and with a sharp apex. The flowers, white or yellowish, are gathered in clusters in the axil of the leaves or at the top of the twigs. The fruits are medium-sized drupes. The precious and aromatic sandalwood oil is obtained from the distillation of the central part of the trunk and the roots. The use of sandalwood originated in India, dove trees arrived in ancient times and grow spontaneously today. Its success is linked to the belief that it can calm the rational part of the mind, allowing one to enter into a relationship with the deepest stages of one's being. The incense produced from sandalwood is used precisely as an aid for meditation. These mystical peculiarities of sandalwood also refer to its use, since ancient times, in the creation of musical instruments and scented sacred and profane furnishings. Used in religious and funerary rites, burned as incense in Buddhism and Hinduism, it soon became a precious raw material for perfumery. An intense base note, it has the ability to harmonize compositions. Its great success will become its small condemnation, now listed among the species in danger of extinction, it is protected in India, and the best natural quality is practically unobtainable for perfumery (mostly minor essential oils such as Amyris are found). To mature and be rich in precious oil, the plant takes 20 to 30 years, furthermore the highest concentrations are not found in green or recently cut plants, but in dead plants, whether fallen or still standing. Santal duPacifique is a hypnotic and mysterious perfume in which warm woody, creamy and velvety notes develop an enveloping warmth. Floral notes accentuate the mysterious, inebriating and sweet side.
