PERRIS MONTECARLO Tubereuse Absolue Extrait 50 ml Tuberose is a New World plant cultivated in Central America by the Aztecs and pre-Columbian populations, who called it Omixochitl, which means “bone flower”, a reference to its long white flowers. It is one of the first plants imported from America to the old continent, brought to France by a missionary in the first half of the sixteenth century. An ambiguous flower with different meanings: for the Aztecs it cured travellers' fatigue, in Victorian England it was considered a bad omen because it was used to decorate tombs. While in France and India, young women were told not to smell the voluptuous scent of tuberose at night, because it was thought to inspire forbidden thoughts and inappropriate sexual acts.
