This product will fit all Fuel Injected (FI) Suzuki motorcycles that have an on-board diagnostic system connector. This connector is referred to as the "mode selector switch connector" in Suzuki manuals. Unlike other gear indicators available for your bike, this product connects to a diagnostic connector. Makes installation very simple. The unit reads data directly from the ECM, offering faster and more reliable readings than competing products. The device is fully automatic, there are no buttons or programming cables, it will display all gears correctly when the ignition is on, the side stand is in the oacute;r position and the engine stop switch is in the position for work. In the installation: Locate the white 6-pole male diagnostic connector, usually near the ECM box. It may have a black nut attached or a "dummy" female plug (without wires). for GSF650 Bandit/for GSF1250; Under the right frame cover, for the DL650 ABS model; Behind the right side fuel tank cover, for VL1500/for Boulevard C90/for Intruder C1500; Behind the left frame there is a head cover, other models; Under the seat (Rider or saddle), remove the black nut or dummy female plugs and connect the plug. Route the cable to the installation site. Remove the green plastic from the back of the device and install the display. Secure the cable with the supplied cable tie. The device is fully functional after installation. No configuration needed. Solving the problem oacute;w. Disconnect the connector and check whether the pins are broken, bent or pushed out of position. Reconnect the plug and make sure all connections are good and the connector is fully seated. Make sure the ignition is on, the side stand is turned on, and the engine stop switch is in the start position when testing the gear position indicator. If some oacute;re gears are not indicated properly, most likely the gear limit switch is faulty, modified or box installed. If the indicated gears are correct except under hard acceleration or braking, there is interference with the bike's wiring and the ECM is receiving incorrect gear position values from the sensor.
