PERRIS MONTECARLO Bergamotto di Calabria EDP 50 ml After having toured the entire world, the new Perris Monte Carlo project finds the excellence of the raw materials that are the protagonists of the new fragrances in Italy. The Italian excellence deriving from the world of citrus fruits, fruit of tradition, the savoir faire and the productive innovation of Capua, a producer of citrus essential oils since 1880 have inspired Gian Luca Perris creative director of the Maison Perris Monte Carlo. Capua has been working with raw materials from the perfumery tradition since 1880 and today combines tradition with new extraction methods that allow the elimination of furocoumarins (photosensitive molecules that have compromised the use of these essential oils) and phthalates (derived from harvesting tools) with cold fraction (up to -20C) through molecular evaporators that guarantee an extraction of total integrity, representative of all the facets of the essential oil without losing the most delicate parts often damaged by heat. The triad of the new collection, dedicated to citrus fruits, expresses the power of the sun and the earth that enhances the characteristics of the fruits it is composed of: bergamot, mandarin and cedar. Bergamot has an ancient history in the world of perfumery, it is part of the pyramid of 90% of perfumes but never the protagonist due to its volatility. Bergamot fruits grow exclusively in the south west of Italy, in Calabria, along the 140 km of Ionian coast. Bergamot is a hybrid between bitter orange and lemon. There are three types of bergamot: femminiello, castagnaro and fantastico. Bergamot of Calabria contains the precious raw material "Bergamot sponge" whose extraction is still carried out through a manual process by cutting the fruits in half and removing the pulp with a special curved cutter. Then compressing the peel on a natural sponge with a rotary movement in order to collect the essence. The essence that is obtained is the best part, more delicate and more complex than that extracted with the peeler and is characterized by fruity and floral notes of jasmine. A return to the origins and traditional extraction techniques has allowed us to capture the best of the excellent raw materials, enriching them with a touch of modernity to compose a bouquet that contains the freshness of bergamot, making it, after a long work, persistent and energetic.
